About
One workspace, because four subscriptions was absurd
VoiceTapp is built and operated by Webmatia Ltd, a small team in London.
Why this exists
We were running content for our own products across four tools: one for transcription, one for writing, one for images, and a general assistant that could not see any of them. Every piece of work meant copying text between tabs, and every month meant four invoices for quotas we half-used.
None of those tools were bad. The problem was the gaps between them. A transcript that cannot be edited by the writing tool is not a document, it is a text file with extra steps. So we built the thing we wanted: one library that every tool reads from and writes to, and one balance that covers all of it.
Where we are now
Fifteen tools, an API, and a free tier large enough to evaluate properly rather than tease. We are early — early enough that we would rather publish a founder note than a wall of invented testimonials, and early enough that if you email support, the person who replies can change the product.
How we make money
Subscriptions and token packs. Not data, not ads, not reselling your content. The pricing page is the whole story, including the refund line and the discount for students and non-profits.
What we hold ourselves to
Show the price before the click
Every generation displays its token cost before you confirm it. A balance that drains invisibly is the fastest way to lose someone's trust, and we would rather lose the sale than the trust.
Your content is not our training data
Not on paid plans, not on the free one. We use zero-retention provider endpoints where they exist and our processing agreements forbid training on customer data.
Leaving should be one click
Everything exports: documents as Markdown and DOCX, transcripts as SRT and VTT, audio as MP3, images as PNG. Lock-in through friction is a business model we are not interested in.
Say what we cannot do
We do not clone voices, we do not browse the live web, and our comparison table has four rows where a competitor wins. A tool that claims everything gets believed on nothing.
